Iubilate Schola

 

Jubilate schola is formed by the members of Jubilate girl’s choir of Kodály Zoltán Hungarian Choir school. The schola has been awarded on numerous choir competitions, for example:

V. Budapest International Choir competition (1995) - Musica Sacra category, Ist prize and grand prize);

Arnhem International Choir competition (The Netherlands, 1995) – Gregorian category,

Ist prize and special prize;

Linz Choir Olympics (Austria, 2000) – champion of Gregorian category

 


 

Cantate Schola
 

 

Cantate schola is formed by the past students of Kodály Zoltán Hungarian Choir school and the members of Cantate mixed choir. It has also won grand prizes and Ist prizes on numerous international choir competitions.

On the Ist Choir Olympics in Linz (2000) this schola was awarded the golden medal in Gregorian category, and became champion in the categories of Musica Sacra a capella and Musica Sacra Mixed Choir. The schola gave high-level performances on two occasions on the Arenzano International Gregorian Festival in 2000 and in 2004.

The conductor of both choirs is Ferenc Sapszon Jr, who has been awarded Liszt, Kodály and “Magyar Örökség” (for Hungarian heritage) prizes. The choirs collaborate with Fr. Georg Béres, who regularly helps them in the interpretation of Gregorian music.

Both scholas sang in Watou in 2000, 2003 and 2006, and on the Vác International Festival in 1998, 2002, 2005 and 2008. 

The scholas perform on liturgical services every month.
